This format was the highest quality & most cost-effective for video service use before BetacamSP & DigiBeta.Īs far as scarcity, it's very rare to see these pop up in the wild. It's not a "master" in terms of the original source for all copies, but instead is a "master" source for the recipient to make on-air versions for broadcast. In case anyone is curious, this auction is for a one-inch video reel. Here's FULLMETAL's comments from the Auction thread: I'll ask the question: if it's a reel, why not HD ? Direct from the 1" reel, and in true stereo.įormat/Info : Original Apple specifications Nine Inch Nails, Hurt - "No Shit" Version. I compressed the audio to FLAC since it really does sound fantastic and wanted to retain it as close to the transfer as possible. Replay media catcher tpb full#I put the full original file up on mega (zipping it dropped the size from 11GB to around 7GB) and I also did a couple encodes for those who are curious but don't care to download the raw file. Miles better than what's on the NIN Vevo and NIN official youtube channels.Īnyways. Tape is in excellent condition and the transfer looks amazing. () gave me some info on the tape specs and guided me on what to ask for while having the transfer made. I took it over to a local place in Chicago that was able to transfer it for me. I was the one who ended up with the Hurt broadcast video reel from a couple of weeks ago (you know what I'm talking about if you follow the auction thread). Totally understand you not sharing this then. cause that's ridiculous.Īpologies, i didn't realize it was up for sale still, thought it was some limited thing, especially after seeing the 150 price on discogs this morning. Just don't go to discogs and buy from the numbnut that's selling just the CD for $150. The DVD that's in the package seems like a decent docu, but I haven't watched it all yet. I will say that I've listened through the CD and I hadn't heard most of the remixes before and am happy with my purchase. Since lower quality versions of this particular track have been floating around forever and I think even on the old remix site, I didn't think it'd be too big of a deal to post just this one track. I did, but that's for my own personal use because I don't really think it's my place to take away a sale from them since I've respected Butch's work since back in the 90s and while I don't know how much goes to him on each purchase. There are a few intriguing remixes on there, beck, u2, depeche mode. have you read this thread ()?Īny chance you could rip the rest of that CD? I get a couple stutters and I saw one of the segues, I didn't see the MTV2 logo, and the video/audio look/sound better than the rest.ĭumb question, but. sucks, because I think it might actually be the best. The fourth "edition" of the special I have is a folder for Fragility 1.0 & Big Day Out 2000 DVD but both VLC and SMPlayer are having trouble with the VOBs. I think it was sourced from the three mpegs. I think the worst of the bunch is fragility_v1.0.iso, both audio and video. I probably kept these three files because I think the audio sounds better than in my other files (fragility_v1_MTV2_SVHS.mov, fragility_v1.0.iso) The video quality for the three part mpeg compared to the MTV2.mov files are roughly the same. Each part ends when the MTV2 version has studio piano segues. Each part opens with the MTV screen for the special. I have a three part for MTV fragility v1.0.
